Create a Separate
Layer

Organize your design by creating a separate layer specifically for Scodix enhancements. Each Scodix process will need a layer in your design files. Please save each layer as its own spot color.

 

File Preparation Tips

When designing for Scodix embellishments, the area(s) that will be embellished should be saved as a spot color called Scodix (capital S.)

Set the spot color to overprint.

Spot color Scodix file(s) should be on a separate page in the same PDF, with the same position and crop marks as the artwork.

Do not knock out the print beneath the Scodix layer.

Scodix embellishments should not extend to the trim line, a score line, a fold line, or a dieline. Allow at least 4 points between the Scodix and these elements.
